"Our extended family thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful week at this wonderful property. I can't say enough about the location, the house, and the ample supply of water toys. The home is perfect for family gatherings; large bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, and comfortable outdoor spaces. I would highly recommend this location to anyone who loves nature and the outdoors, enjoys kayaking, and appreciates time to just sit and relax." April 2017
"My extended family and I spent a fun filled and relaxing week at this lovely home. Location on the river is perfect for a tube or kayak trip from the head springs back to the dock. The paddle up isn't hard and the float down is the most beautiful section of the river. The home is well appointed and the outdoor spaces perfect for large families. We cannot wait to return!" "My brother's family and my family shared this wonderful home for a one week vacation. We were in heaven from the minute we got there. The house itself is great with nice bedrooms, bathrooms and Family Room. The backyard is paradise. There's a small island giving some privacy to the yard and it makes for a perfect little "lagoon" that our kids fooled around in for hours on end. We weren't expecting that lagoon and it really was a special thing for us. Our 5 kids ranged from 11 to 16 years old. All of the water toys at the house (kayaks, tubes, water shoes, flippers) were highly used and very valuable to us. The full size washer/dryer also was highly used and wonderful to have. We also loved the gas grill with covered seating area. We often floated from the house to the ramp about 1-1/2 hours down and either left a car there for a drive back or had a non-floating adult pick us up. Worked out very well. For most of the vacation we were devising how and when we can get ourselves back! Very relaxing and beloved vacation!" June 2016
"Our family and friends were able to enjoy the Rainbow River in a newly renovated property next to the KP Hole. The home was very comfortable and set-up very well so that you can truly enjoy your time with your family. There are plenty of beds for a large group. We had seven people and did not even use two of the beds. The view from the family room is extraordinary. You can watch the otters even while sitting in the house. There is also plenty of outdoor living space so you can spend time inside and out very comfortably. We had stayed at Wood Duck Crossing South on two occasions and were fortunate enough to be one of the first to stay at Wood Duck Crossing North. Both properties are great places to stay, but having a larger group this time made WDC North better for us. We still would not hesitate to stay in the South property if we have a smaller group next time. The owners truly care about your experience and are always willing to help. They go above and beyond any VRBO experience I have ever had. The kayaks and paddle boards are a great added benefit that make getting onto the Rainbow River easy. Cannot wait to come back again!!!" "Nothing like waking up in the morning and walking out to the end of the dock and just jumping right in (age 65!). I can still recall the cool silky feeling of sinking to the bottom and popping back up to the surface. The water is crystal clear and after living around salt water for the past 30 years, the smell and feel of it was amazing! We will have to come back to check out the surrounding area because there was no reason to leave the house, it had everything you could imagine or hope for. Definitely want to come back a million more times and hopefully buy something in the area! In the evening when the tubers stopped, the otters would entertain us with their crazy antics! I thought I lived in paradise in Naples but find I prefer Wood Duck Crossing!" July 2016
"Wow! We had an amazing time. The photos of the house were very accurate, clean and well maintained. The water toys were a hit with the whole family. We had never tried paddle boarding. Lots of fun. We saw one alligator and six otters. Each morning they would come by the dock. Loved it so much we want to buy property up there but since we can't afford that - we'll just have to come back here! Thank you for sharing your home with our family Jack and Susie." Oct. 2014
"The home was equipped with everything needed for an awesome adventure on the crystal clear spring fed river. The owners were very cordial and made the experience an unforgettable one for our entire family. If you genuinely love the outdoors and are looking to relax do not let the serenity of the Wood Duck Crossing pass you by. My kids did not leave the river all weekend and the adults were just as hard to pull away from the gorgeous outdoors. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK... God Blessed.." April 2012
"What a wonderful place to stay and play. The accommodations were excellent, warm and inviting. The owner's absolutely went out of their way to provide something for everyone, including the kids and grand kids. The house is newly remodeled with a lot of taste, you will not be disappointed when you first walk in. As a bonus, the house comes with two kayaks, one canoe, floats, water pistols swim gear and your own private dock for the outdoors. The property is centrally located on the river, so you can float from the KP hole (up-river) to your dock or float from your dock to the bridge (down-river). We have never been so relaxed!! Since this property allows pets and does not charge extra, we took our yellow lab and he had a blast. Throw the stick, run from the shore to the river, fetch the stick, swim back to the shore, over and over again. Even the water pistols were fun and came in handy with the kids, it was the adults against them. There is truly something for every age at Wood Duck Crossing. I would like to thank the Owner's for sharing this lovely place with us and providing such beautiful memories." Oct. 2012
"We stayed 3 nights in April of this year (2011) and we had a blast. I rented this home for myself, daughters and grandchildren and we had so much fun. My grandchildren spent 90% of the time in the water either swimming, kayaking or fishing, they caught small fish (catched and released) and we spent alot of time sitting out on the dock.
All of the bedrooms upstairs (3) face the river, great view, outside storage shed held the water toys, kayaks, inner tubes, etc. and full size washer and dryer. The kitchen was well equipped and the home is located just minutes from the grocery store/Walmart/restaurants, very convenient yet secluded at the same time.
We researched alot of places on the river before choosing this one and we actually went down the river in the kayaks and saw another home that was listed for rent and the water at that place was very dark, the water at Wood Duck Crossing is crystal clear. I recommend this place and we would definitely stay there again." April 2011
